Solo and Ensemble 2016

Participating in the Solo and Ensemble Contest gives your child the opportunity to sing for a vocal judge and receive constructive feedback. We feel that this is a positive learning experience for our students, and we encourage them to participate. Your child has shown interest in participating in this event.
Date: Saturday, November 5
Where: McCullough Junior High
Time: Saturday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Cost: $10 – This is the entry fee.
We will help students during their choir time as well as scheduled times before and after school. After school rehearsals must be set up individually by the student - after school rehearsals will not be available every day. Sign-ups for practice help before and after school will be posted on the white board. Students will be expected to sing their solo memorized solo for the class before we leave for solo contest. The director may stop a student from going to contest if they are not prepared to compete.
Ensembles (groups of singers) are permitted to compete as well, as long as they are singing part music. The cost of an ensemble is $8. This is not per singer, but for the entire ensemble.
Students will be provided sheet music and a practice CD to practice at home. If a student loses or breaks their CD, it will be a $1 fee to replace it. If a student loses or destroys their sheet music, it will be a $.25 fee to replace it.
Please complete the form below and return it to Ms. Robertson. If you must pay by check, please make checks payable to: Moorhead Choir and put your child’s first and last names in the memo area. Please include driver’s license number and birthday on the check. Cash must be the exact amount and enclosed in an envelope with your child’s name and the purpose for the money written on the envelope.
